Prefer to stay above ground? The Museum’s Time Tunnel offers a thrilling digital journey through centuries of coal mining. Led by a former coal miner, you’ll meet digital characters, see original objects up close, and enjoy a spectacular special effects finale.

Above ground, the Museum is a treasure trove of discovery. Wander through galleries filled with intriguing artefacts, stunning art, and changing exhibitions. Outside, over 40 acres of scenic landscape awaits. Follow nature trails past rivers and waterfalls, marvel at magnificent machinery, and visit the Pony Discovery Centre, home to Finn, Bud, Eric, and Ernie, the Museum’s ponies.

With regular themed events like 1940s Day and Rugby Day, plus a welcoming café serving delicious food and drinks, there’s always something new to enjoy.
