The Apothecary Guest House

Built around 1640 you will delight in the establishment’s quaintness – the oak beams, millstone grit exterior and intricate passageways. The Apothecary has had many uses in the past 400 years, including an inn, the Co-Op (see pulley wheel at the top of the building), private dwelling, and a book shop. Adjacent to the guest house is the The Cabinet of Curiosities – an antique furnished recreation of a a Victorian druggists dispensary selling balms and salves, as well as other nostalgic gift items.
