Twenty Twenty - Fine and Applied Art Gallery

With their knowledge and expertise accrued over decades, Mary and Hugh Elliott – co-directors of Twenty Twenty Gallery – have long been immersed in art and design. They first met as degree students at Bristol, where Mary, studying Fine Art, was taught by the St Ives painters Paul Feiler and Michael Canney. Hugh meanwhile studied three-dimensional design, specialising in furniture, in a department which followed Bauhaus principles of learning and development.

Mary and Hugh first established their gallery in Much Wenlock in 2004, and 14 years later relocated to Ludlow. From the outset, their focus has been on carefully curated exhibitions by a broad range of contemporary artists and makers, in work encompassing painting, printmaking, sculpture and ceramics. Over the years, the gallery has developed strong relationships with its artists, nurturing careers and promoting work to reach ever developing audiences via both physical and online presentations. Throughout, the focus has been on quality, individuality, and staying power.

The gallery clientele is local, national, and international, and includes both established collectors and those considering their first-ever purchase. Many take advantage of the interest free Own Art scheme, which makes collecting more easily accessible. Mary and Hugh pride themselves on the relationships they have developed with clients, many of whom have gone on to form substantial collections of gallery artists.
