Helmsley Walled Garden

Welcome to Helmsley Walled Garden, five tranquil acres.

Helmsley Walled Garden is open every Wednesday to Sunday 10am until last entry at 4pm. Please check website for full details of opening.

The Vine House Café, gift shop and plant sales area may be visited without paying entry to the garden.

Admission

Adult £14.00 (£15.50 with Gift Aid)

Annual pass, £16 – includes free entry to the garden for 12 months, a free gift and 10% off plants

Children under 16 – Free

RHS members visiting on a Wednesday – Free

Gardeners’ World 2 for 1 and CPRE 2 for 1 passes valid at the garden, Fridays only.

Resident’s pass (valid for anyone living within a 6 mile radius of Helmsley) – Free

Resident’s passes cost £10 for 12 months and can be purchased from the garden kiosk.

Parking

There is parking for the garden at the Cleveland Way Car park which is a very short walk from the garden. The Cleveland Way car park does have a limited number of blue badge spaces. Please note that there is no parking directly at the garden entrance.

Getting to the Garden

By car, motorbike or bicycle – If you are driving to the Garden, try the AA Journey planner. Car parking is in the Cleveland Way long stay car park. Once parked and looking at the castle the garden is a short walk along the path to the right and through the overflow car park. By bus – the EYMS Bus route 128 runs from Scarborough and Pickering to Helmsley and the Reliance 31X from York to Kirkbymoorside via Helmsley. Walkers on The Cleveland Way will find the garden just on their left as they leave Helmsley heading for Rievaulx Abbey.
