Wythall Estate

Wythall is a half-timbered Manor House in a secluded and idyllic setting with gardens, fresh water lake, wooded grounds and vineyards. There are two separate, self-contained cottage style accommodation areas situated in the west wing of the Manor House. Both have good access to WiFi, are comfortably furnished, well equipped, and dog friendly. Enjoy the peace and quiet of the naturally beautiful grounds and see an abundance of wildlife.

Owned by the same family since it was built in 1520, Wythall Manor has never been sold. One of very few in England to have remained in the same family for so long. This unique history gives a deep family connection to the estate and unrivalled passion to produce quality produce from it. Current custodians Jamie, his son Angus, Anthea, and her husband Frank planted the vineyard in 2010 with the aim of preserving Wythall for future generations.

Nestled at the bottom of a picturesque valley in Herefordshire, our 4 acre vineyard is based on rich, sandy loam soil with terrific fertility. Sheltered by woodland and with a fresh water stream, our vineyard benefits from a unique microclimate which has helped us grow grapes of the finest quality for the past 10 years. Varieties grown include Pinot Noir Précoce, Siegerrebe, Rondo, and Orion – all of which go into our range of award-winning still and sparkling wines.

Wine tastings of Wythall Estate wines and guided tours of the vineyard run on from March through to December. The event begins with a walking tour of the vineyard where your guide Frank will talk you through the management of the vineyard from planting through to harvest and share his knowledge of growing our chosen grape varieties. Following the tour, Jamie will welcome guests into the dining room at Wythall Manor taste a trio of Wythall wines. After the tasting there will be an opportunity to buy.
