We bought The Cider Barn in July 2015. Although not setting out to purchase a cider business, we quickly discovered the history of the land and orchard.
The traditional mixed orchard had been previously been planted by the late Jean Nowell. Jean had been instrumental in promoting cider and perry and had been a mentor to many well know local producers.
We realised that as the current custodians of the orchard we had a duty to continue the work that Jean had started so we enrolled on a cider making course and our journey as accidental cider makers had begun.
