Situated on the banks of the Conwy estuary, with magnificent views of Snowdonia and Conwy Castle, this reserve is delightful at any time of year.
You’re welcome to join one of our guided walks along pushchair-friendly paths. There’s a wealth of wildlife to be enjoyed from the trails, and our friendly experts can help you spot frogs, bees, butterflies and dragonflies through the summer, and birds throughout the year. We have events to suit everyone from keen birdwatchers to beginners or young families.
Take time to call in at the Waterside Coffee Shop, overlooking a lagoon, and enjoy a drink, a snack or even a light lunch, and our special blend of bird-friendly coffee. We have a well-stocked gift shop, too, and don’t miss the fantastic farmers’ market on the last Wednesday of every month!
Opening times
The shop and visitor centre is open every day (except Christmas Day) from 9.30 am-5 pm. The coffee shop is open from 10 am-4.30 pm (to 4 pm from November to March).
Information for families
Conwy is a great place for families to discover nature. We have Nature Bingo, a free self-guided activity, and there is child-friendly information about the wildlife around the trails. There’s a fantastic playspace next to the cafe, including a giant earth monster! And do check out our website, for events through the school holidays.
Information for dog owners
Sorry, we don’t allow dogs, except registered assistance dogs, because there are breeding birds and, in winter, roosting birds on the reserve
