My work incorporates natural imagery - countryside, woodland and sky scapes - to evoke themes of escapism and beauty within my local environment. Employing my own photographic material, I display the images in an original way through a technique of printing on to acrylic. I vary the thickness of the acrylic in order to distort the images and allow them to reflect within the shapes themselves; this effect is enhanced by a combination of matt and shiny surfaces. I experiment with colour and manipulate my images to create both subtle and more vivid pieces. I enjoy exploring the possibilities of acrylic and my themes and enthusiasm grow the more I experiment. I create 'custom designs' for clients using their own personal photographs of special memories or by personalising existing designs. However, due to copyright laws I cannot accept images other than those that I have permission from the photographer to use, be that the client or someone the client knows. I also have an agreement allowing me full permission to use the image within the one off item the client has requested, however with the understanding that the image will not be reproduced for my own work.
