Revolutionary in concept, ‘Gasworx Skatepark’ provides a vast, supervised, state-of-the-art park for skateboarding, rollerblading and BMX biking. The facility is one of the largest facilities of its type in the North of England, and able to host national events and is fenced, floodlit and landscaped. The Gasworx Skatepark has been designed by well known pro-skater Marc Churchill and contains design elements that will not be found anywhere else in the Country. The Gasworx which opened Easter 2008 has been strongly supported by the local community and involved young people at all stages of the development. The project has transformed a contaminated and disused stretch of Bridlington’s ‘Dukes Park’. Nick Johnson at Bridlington Council is driving the £500,000+ project, which includes in a subsequent phase plans for an all-weather multi-use games area for a number of sports including football, basketball, hockey, cricket, netball and tennis. Special thanks go out to the voluntary ‘Skatepark Steering Group’ who developed the project for a number of years before handing the project over to the Council last April.

Eastnor Castle This fairytale castle is as dramatic inside as it is outside. A vast, 60 foot high Hall leads to a series of State Rooms and Gothic Drawing Room designed by Pugin, with its original furniture and to the Italian Renaissance style library which boasts magnificent views across the lake. |
