Worcestershire's Waterways

ImageThe undulating landscape of the South Midlands is surprisingly rural.

The historic town of Worcester is a stone's throw from Birmingham's suburbia and Shakespeare's Stratford. Surrounded by gentle countryside, Worcestershire is blessed with numerous waterways, long stretches of delightful scenery, pretty towns and fascinating canal architecture such as the Tardebigge Flight and Stourport Basins.

Boating comes into its own in the Midlands. The River Avon is one of Britain's prettiest navigations - and the Grand Union Canal one of the longest  - so whatever you're after, whether you're part of an energetic crew happy to tackle the Tardebigge Flight or a skipper in search of some relaxation on the Staffordshire and Worcestershire Canal, you're bound to find something to suit.
