ImageArrow Valley Country Park is the largest area of open space in Redditch, 900 acres in size. It has become one of Redditch’s greatest green assets, having recently won a Green Flag Park Award from the Civic Trust.

The park extends over 2.5 miles in length and splits the town in two. The river Arrow meanders through the park providing excellent wildlife habitats and interesting walks for
visitors.

In the centre of the park is a large lake which has a beautiful 30 minute walk around it’s shores. You can picnic by the lake, fish, or take the children to the play area which has some state of the art climbing boulders.

The Countryside Centre is located in the centre of the Park providing environmental information, gift shop, café, water sports, and conference facilities. The centre was built in 2000 and opened by David Bellamy.

There are a large number of way-marked footpaths to follow from the centre, which explore the park thorough meadows, woodland and along the riverside. A cycleway and bridleway allow you to explore the park by other, more energetic means.

In the north of the Park is Forge Mill Needle Museum which can be visited from the Countryside Centre by following the Millers trail. This circular trail is only 2 miles long and can be completed in just over an hour.

The Countryside Centre and the Museum have a range of events and activities which are run throughout the year. There are craft courses where you can learn skills like jewellery or coracle making. There are also children’s activities, fairs and circuses at various times throughout the summer in the park. On August bank holiday Monday the annual scarecrow day takes place, when hundreds of scarecrows are put on display in the park, children and adults from all over the region participate in this event.

In the south of the Park you will find Redditch Arboretum, Ipsley church and Redditch skate park. The woodland trail a 2.5 mile circular route will take you to these three attractions. The trail should take about one and a half  hours.
