The Saracen's Head Hotel PDF Print E-mail

Once known as the King's Arms, part of the hotel dates back to the 12th Century.  Records chronicle many royal visits, including King John and King Edward II. In 1651 the hotel's name was changed to The Saracen's Head Hotel - this is believed to have been an insult to the monarchy as legend says that Charles I was beheaded with a Saracen sword.

The Saracens Head is a charming coaching inn with 27 refurbished en-suite bedrooms, bars and restaurant serving home-cooked menus.

Opposite the Norman Minster and close to the town of Newark, the Saracens Head offers all the modern comforts in elegant and charming surroundings.
