West Midland Safari Park

ImageWest Midland Safari Park is a major tourist attraction situated directly on the A456 between Kidderminster and Bewdley in Worcestershire; it spans an area of 200 acres, which comprises of a four mile all-weather, self drive safari; discovery trail and amusement area.

The animal reserves is home to a variety of rare and exotic animals and visitors can see the first ever White Lion cubs born in the UK, in Kingdom of the White Lions, plus Elephants, White Tigers, Giraffe, Rhino, African Wild Dogs; Zebra; Wolves; Camels; Water Buffalo; Wallabies and all kinds of Antelope.

Attractions to explore on foot in Discovery Trail, include Twilight Cave -home to free flying bats, jumping rats and rare and mysterious Aye aye; Seal Island and friendly Animal and Reptile Encounters.  In the Reptile House - home of TV Star Mark O’Shea - can be found all kinds of snakes and reptiles from around the world.  The Sealion Theatre has several stunning performances daily in a 15 minute Show.  Furthermore, Creepy Crawlies is sure to send shivers down the spine!! And, a visit to the Seaquarium will uncover the breath-taking world of underwater wildlife with exhibits from the Asian Pacific, Red Sea and Amazon River.
Hippo Lake is home to the largest family group of Hippo in the Country, with viewing platform high above the lake - perfect for photography or simply to watch feeding time, twice daily!

The Amusement Area has a host of fantastic rides and amusements, including the new Venom Tower Drop; Twister Rollercoaster; Black Fly; Zambezi Water Splash; Wild River Rafting; Pirate Ship; Tea Cups as well as all kinds of games!
Shops are packed with unusual safari inspired curios and beautiful soft toys and when you’re hungry you will be spoilt for choice - whether you fancy a quick pizza, jacket potato with choice of delicious fillings, or simply an ice cream - you won’t be disappointed.  If you decide to stay for lunch, head straight for the Explorers Family Café for a selection of hot and cold meals. Or, if you prefer to be where the action is, the Botswana Burger Co., situated in the heart of the Amusement Area will be just what you are looking for, serving popular burger meals, drinks and fast food.

This year's features are a special exhibition "No Coward Soul" celebrating the life and work of Emily Brontë the author of Wuthering Heights and a redisplay of Branwell Brontë's paintings. The exhibition will be the first time all of the Society's Emily collection has been on display together.
