Image A great day out for all ages. This special attraction was created at the site of Staffordshire's Apedale Mine. Along with the underground experience, we have an interesting and informative Museum, a welcoming cafe and gift shop. The centre is set in the unique landscape of Apedale Country Park.

EXHIBITION HALL AND MUSEUM 

Here at the centre we aim to bring the story of Apedale alive by 'hands on' history as well as a selection of interesting displays and artifacts.

Discover this areas past from pre-historic times to modern day. See our Roman display, including part of a large important 1st century building revealed at nearby Holditch in 1998.

Our impressive mining artifacts collection includes a mine rescue van, a detailed model of a drift mine, pit tools, mine lamps, maps, photographs, pit disaster memorabilia, the authentic reproduction of a miners cottage evokes a fascinating insight into everyday family life in the past.

Featured Attraction

The Brontë Parsonage Museum and Brontë Society. The site has information about the lives and novels of the Brontë Family and the Brontë Parsonage Museum.

This year's features are a special exhibition "No Coward Soul" celebrating the life and work of Emily Brontë the author of Wuthering Heights and a redisplay of Branwell Brontë's paintings. The exhibition will be the first time all of the Society's Emily collection has been on display together.
