The West Mid Show

Major highlights at this year’s show will include The Household Cavalry Musical Ride, which is rarely seen outside London. These excellent riders, with their horses, drums and music will be a magnificent spectacle and will set the standard for the show’s other major artists such as the Bolddog Lings Freestyle Motocross Display team. These talented, extreme sports riders are guaranteed to keep the audience on the edge of their seats with their superhuman aerial stunts, jumps and tricks.  A show not to be missed!  Other displays in the main ring will be a miniature Grand National course for a fast and furious Shetland Pony race.Stunning battle simulations will be provided by Shropshire Army Units using the latest equipment and technology, such as Gazelle helicopters, Personal carriers and weapons to provide an amazing combat scenario.

The West Mid Show is also a ‘Country Show’, with the country’s finest cattle and animals competing for honours in the main ring and side rings, together with Show Jumping competitions and driving displays by the British Carriage Driving Society, featuring horse drawn carriages, stage coaches and brewers drays parading in the main arena.  The British Lumberjack Association will perform again at the show in another outstanding display of practical forestry and in the Countryside Area there will be many country pursuit demonstrations.

The show also caters for children, over sixty Shropshire Schools will be taking part with interactive displays and music; part of a full music programme on the stage with the Porthywaen Silver Band, a Scottish Pipe Band to entertain you all day and there will be a Fun Fair and plenty to do in the children’s area.

Don’t miss out on the hundreds of Trade Stands, Antique, Floral Art and the major display staged by the Shropshire Federation of Women’s Institutes, centred around the ‘ Local Produce in your Supermarket ‘ theme and ‘The Great Milk Debate’.  There will also be the largest Food Hall in Shropshire where you can taste and purchase some of the best produce from local Shropshire producers.  There is so much to see and experience at the West Mid Show and with plenty of free car and coach parking space, it’s “an excellent value day out for all the family!”
