What's happening at Battlefield Farm?

We're converting the farm buildings to develop a Visitor Centre, Farm Shop and Café next to the site of the Battle of Shrewsbury.

The visitor centre will tell the story of the Battle of Shrewsbury, the Farm Shop & Café will provide an outlet for a range of delicious local produce which will have 100% traceability, low food miles and great taste.

At Battlefield 1403 our aim will be to create a happy, relaxed & popular visitor destination where everyone feels welcome.

The Battle of Shrewsbury was fought between King Henry IV and a rebellious faction led by the Percy family and marks one of the bloodiest conflicts to take place on British soil.

The significance of the battle lies not just in its political ramifications as precursor to the Wars of the Roses but also in the fact that it was the first time that the English longbow was used on both sides.
