Moors Meadow is an intriguing and eclectic garden, full of appeal to the true plantsman. The seven-acre organic hillside site offers superb views over the Kyre Valley and comprises a variety of environments rich in unusual and exotic plants. There are countless spring bulbs, brimming herbaceous borders, a grass garden, a rhododendron glade, a fernery, a cottage-style garden, a herb garden, and a highly productive kitchen garden, along with hundreds of varieties of trees and shrubs.
Assorted paths wind through the garden to add a sense of surprise and secrecy. Every one reveals a rarity. Moors Meadow will fascinate the gardener who loves to explore at all times of the year and appeals to anyone not looking for formal or traditional planting.
Visitors may meet the eccentric plantswomen and on some days there is an artist blacksmith on site.
Sunday August 10th in aid of St.Michaels Hospice with refreshments, blacksmith demonstrations and live acoustic music. Open: Daily 11.00 - 5.00 March-September (Closed Wed & Thurs) and for the rest of the year by appointment. 4 miles north of Bromyard on the B4214

How Stean Gorge How Stean is a spectacular limestone gorge, situated in an Area of Oustanding Natural Beauty, in the very heart of Nidderdale among lush green pastures. Known as 'Yorkshire's Little Switzerland' to the Victorians, the Gorge is crossed by narrow bridges between the rocky paths that lead down and across the rock face. The scenery is breathtaking, and the beck that runs through the Gorge can be anything from a gentle stream to a raging gushing torrent - depending on the rainfall and time of year. |
