ImageWe are a small livestock farm (40 acres) on the outskirts of the village of Kimbolton where we rear up to 40 Aberdeen Angus X Cattle and breed 100 Suffolk X Sheep.

We also maintain 7 acres of traditional cider orchard, some trees up to 60 years old, together with a few Perry Pears and ½ acre of damson trees, walnut and cobnut.  Through the orchards we run a flock of 50 free range hens (warrens)  together with a few pet (aylesbury) ducks.

We strongly believe in the local economy, producing and selling only local food sourced from within a 20 mile radius of the farm itself.

Farm Shop

All the beef, lamb and eggs sold in the shop is produced on this farm in the most traditional way possible.  We do not use antibiotics, steroids, growth promoters or GM.  The lambs are fed purely on mother's milk and grass and the cattle are out to graze during the summer months but are brought in during the winter where they are fed ad lib silage and cereals.  When the animals are fat they are taken to our local abattoir, only 9 miles away, and there they are hung -- 3 weeks for Beef and 1 week for Lamb.

Bed & Breakfast

Next to the Farmhouse and above the shop and farm office we have two rooms both en-suite and both can be either twin or double rooms.  Each room has TV, Hospitality Tray, chest of draws and wardrobe together with long mirror, side tables and chairs.  Both rooms are centrally heated and breakfast is served in the tea room which during the cold winter mornings is heated by a wood burning stove.  The bedrooms are separate from the house, i.e. they have their own entrance and therefore can be let as a complete semi- self contained unit!.  Beautiful views are seen from each window.  The bed linen is top quality Egyptian Cotton sheets with either blankets or douvets.  For families a "smaller" fifth member can be put up on a "Z-bed".

Tea Room

Pensioners' Lunch every Tuesday at 12.30 - this includes main course, pudding, tea or coffee for only £6.50 per head.

After popular demand we are now finally doing Sunday Lunches.  Delicious Sunday Roasts with all the trimmings and a choice of desserts all for £12.75 per adult and £8.75 per child.    Please note we are not licensed to sell alcohol so guests are welcome to bring their own.  Fresh pressed apple juice and other soft drinks are available.
Cream Teas, cakes and other light snacks are available through out the week 10.00am - 6.00pm Mon - Sat, 11.30am - 4.00pm Sunday

All the ingredients used are either our own or are sourced locally or are fair trade.

Pensioners and children alike are welcome, as are your dogs.  There are beautiful country walks or cycle rides from the farm without going on any major road.  Horse riders also welcome, stabling and/or headcollars provided.

 How Stean Gorge

 Sample Image

How Stean is a spectacular limestone gorge, situated in an Area of Oustanding Natural Beauty,  in the very heart of Nidderdale among lush green pastures. Known as 'Yorkshire's Little Switzerland'  to the Victorians, the Gorge is crossed by narrow bridges between the rocky paths that lead down and across the rock face. The scenery is breathtaking, and the beck that runs through the Gorge can be anything from a gentle stream to a raging gushing torrent - depending on the rainfall and time of year.
