One gem in particular is Jantar, unmissable with its large glass frontage at Unit 3 in the Cavendish Arcade in the centre of Buxton

Selling unusual and distinctive jewellery from renowned local and international designers, Jantar is, without doubt, one of Buxton’s gems.

Whether it’s just to browse amongst the dazzling displays of semi-precious stones and crystals available, or to uncover that unique personal gift, Jantar is an unmissable part of any visit to Buxton.

Described as ‘The most beautiful shop in the town’ by The Vine magazine, Jantar displays one of the finest collections of local ‘Bluejohn’

jewellery (mined exclusively in nearby Castleton - it’s name derived from the French for blue and yellow ‘Bleu et Juane’).

Shop owner, Kate Emery is also an expert in Amber and imports a range of hand-crafed amber and silver jewellery from family producers in Poland. This unusual substance often contains the remains of plant and insect life from millions of years ago.

Alongside the earrings, necklaces, rings and brooches, Jantar offers a fine selection of hand-painted Silesian pottery from Boleslawiec in

Poland. Colourful plates, teapots and oven-to-table ware to suit any occasion and budget.

Kate looks forward to welcoming you to her beautiful shop - feel free to contact her or her staff on 01298 73116 or pop in for a browse at;
