Here at the Dunge (pronounced as in Dungeon) see a collection of over 550 species and hybrid Rhododendrons as though in a hidden Himalayan valley, with streams, waterfalls, ponds, bridges, bog gardens and a wide variety of unusual perennials, trees and shrubs in a magnificent setting. A connoisseur's garden. We are open from March to June, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holiday Mondays. (Note: this means that in 2008 we will no longer be open Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays in May). In July and August we will only open Saturdays and Sundays.
Many of our visitors return year after year remarking on how different it is as we plant up new areas and those who return after a couple of weeks are amazed as the succession of Rhododendrons makes for a constant changing, vibrant picture. New planting and further maintenance has been carried out in the Gardens and the Hardy Plant Nursery is bursting with a new stock of Rhododendrons and Perennials.

Eastnor Castle This fairytale castle is as dramatic inside as it is outside. A vast, 60 foot high Hall leads to a series of State Rooms and Gothic Drawing Room designed by Pugin, with its original furniture and to the Italian Renaissance style library which boasts magnificent views across the lake. |
