Visitors are assured of a warm welcome on arrival and a comfortable base to enjoy this beautiful area in the heart of England. Dating back to the 17th Century and converted at the turn of the Millennium, the five rooms are aptly named after their former occupation on the farm, including the Cow Shed, Sheep Shed, Pig Sty and Stable. The four diamonds rated accommodation offers excellent amenities, with en-suite bathrooms, tea and coffee making facilities and televisions. A traditional decor adds to the natural charm and character of the rooms. The homely dining room lets guests enjoy the delicious full English breakfast in comfort. Proprietors Mary and David Kidd cater for the preferences and tastes of all diets, with local produce and home made bread contributing to an excellent standard of food. Nottingham East Midlands Airport is just minutes away. Activities range from walking and cycling to attractions such as Twycross Zoo and Donington Park. Chatsworth House is about 40 minutes by road. Whether you are visiting Ivy Farm House for an unwinding break or are travelling for a night due to work, the idyllic scenery and laid back atmosphere ensure a relaxing time for all. Local tea rooms and cafes at Melbourne Hall, Calke Abbey and Staunton Harold provide quick snacks with hearty meals found in pubs and restaurants a short drive away. Five self-catering cottages, due for completion in September 2007, will offer guests a different dimension from accommodation at Ivy House Farm. Sleeping up to four individuals in four cottages and accommodating couples with a luxurious four-poster bed in the fifth, the latest appliances are to be included throughout.
