Nature in Art is unique! It is the world’s only museum and art gallery dedicated exclusively to art inspired by nature in all its diversity! Unlike many museums our displays are always changing. Between February and November, you can meet artists and crafts people and we run a range of inspiring events and courses. Our collection embraces two and three dimensional work in all mediums and styles ranging from Picaso to Shepherd. Spanning 1500 years, it includes work by 600 artists from over 50 countries. So whether you prefer exotic oriental treasures or watercolour landscapes, the Flemish masters or contemporary glass, modern abstract interpretation or bronze sculpture, there will be something here for you… and you are likely to make a few discoveries too! Nature in Art, near Twigworth, north of Gloucester is also a good food stop, especially if you or any members of your family have an interest in art.
The coffee shop area looks out over the garden with plenty of sculptures to see and then visit after you have eaten. Part of the seating area is in a conservatory so you have a light and airy feel for your coffee and cake or meal. Food ranges from Jacket potatoes to quiches and soups, so it is simple but filling and you can be assured a friendly service - the cookies are definitely worth sampling with a hot drink!
There are books to browse through too if you want to make your visit more leisurely.
After you have eaten you can discover the various rooms in the 1700’s Georgian Mansion, which houses art featuring many different types of animals, birds, insects etc in pictures and sculptures. Some are abstract, others life studies, but plenty to look at and enjoy for children and adults.
As a year round attraction you and the family can enjoy it throughout the year as it only closes between December 24th – 26th and on Mondays.
